The materials used are primarily medical grade silicone and poly-methyl methacrylate(PMN) Both of these materials are biocompatible and do not react in any manner with the body . 

LET’S LOOK INTO THE DETAILS: 

• MISSING EYE: The patient who has lost eye- sight in one of his\her eye can go for this treatment. He/she may have undergone evisceration \ orbital externaration congenitally missing eye etc.         The colour of the iris and sclera are customised according to the patient. 

• MISSING EAR/ NOSE: The patient who loses nose or ear in       any accident or due to some operation can get it replaced. Generally, facial implants (in the form of small screws) are required to replace missing nose or ear. The artificial nose and artificial ear made of medical grade silicon which is biocompatible. The prosthesis are customised according to the skin colour of the patient. 

• MISSING PART OF THE FACE: Sometimes, patients suffer from such diseases like mucormycosis , cancer of the face where part of the face , has to be removed to save the life of the patient . The quality of life reduces after operation for such patients. For such patients, prosthetic work is quiet challenging because every facial prosthesis is different from the other. These prosthesis are retained through spectacles or implants on the face.

• MISSING PALATE / MISSING JAW: Patients who undergo treatment for oral cancer generally undergo removal of palate or lower jaw. These patients are not able to eat or speak properly. The material of choice for such patients is PMMA . The prosthesis which replaces missing palate is called obturator

• MISSING FINGER: Patients who have lost one or two fingers or thumb cannot function properly. A silicon finger can be replaced that finger is matching with the existing hand and patient can learn to adapt with that fingers.
